A global packaging manufacturer of close to 26,000 employees is in immediate need of a Plant Maintenance Engineer.

The primary focus of this position will be to provide maintenance, electric, and hydraulic engineering services and support. This person will supervise and maintain the servicing, and repairing of the facility’s manufacturing and electrical and mechanical equipment, buildings and grounds. This position will be responsible for leading, motivating, and supporting the Maintenance team in exceeding goals by monitoring and controlling: machine run ability, production performance, machine/building condition, plant wide repairs/response, and project based work.

Responsibilities for the Plant Engineer / Maintenance Manager position include:

  • Oversee & support the maintenance, electric, and hydraulic work teams.

  • Prepare work schedules for plant maintenance teams.

  • Ensures that the facility’s equipment & machines are maintained properly and working correctly.

  • Oversees the facility’s maintenance program; identifies & analyzes equipment or machinery failures and takes corrective actions.

  • Provides technical training to management and other team members.

  • Coordinates work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.

  • Develop & maintain a cost effective preventative maintenance system including a spare parts inventory for equipment and the facility. Maintain records of issues, failures, repairs, preventative maintenance (PM) etc.

  • Must be able to work on different mechanical systems using correct tools & PPE to include but not limited to the following: packaging conveyor systems, chain drives, gear boxes, drive shafts, pulley systems, sprockets, rollers, solenoids, valves, bearings, shafts, rollers, belts, timing belts, and chains.

  • Development and compliance of the maintenance budget and track departmental spending.

  • Responsible for compliance with Local, State, Federal, and corporate regulation and policy.

Qualifications for the Plant Engineer / Maintenance Manager position include:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.

  • 4-6 years of experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.

  • Previous management experience is required.

  • Ability to self-direct activities, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical & organizational skills, detail orientation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under pressure.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.

  • Thorough understanding of mechanical & industrial engineering & equipment.

  • Ability to use discretion.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
